Where only precision counts
The requirements of the European standard EN 1090 are a major challenge for many steel construction companies. That is why the requirements for bolting tools — in production and above all on site — are very high. Plarad tools meet these requirements consistently.
With Plarad torque wrenches and tools, users have durable, safe, high-quality equipment. Plarad’s range complies with the latest EN, DIN and VDI standards for the various tightening methods.
Tightening tools must have an accuracy of ±4% to EN ISO 6789 in all steps of the torque method. Every tool must be maintained to EN ISO 6789; pneumatic tools must be checked whenever the hose length changes. The same requirements apply to torque wrenches in the first step of the combined preloading method, but with an accuracy of ±10% and an annual inspection.
Bolts are tightened with a tool of suitable working range; manual or automatic tools may be used. Impact wrenches may only be used for the initial tightening of each bolt. Torque must be applied evenly and without interruption. Tightening has at least two steps. Step 1: the wrench is set to approximately 0.75 Mr,i; this step must be completed for all bolts in the joint before the second begins. Step 2: the wrench is set to 1.10 Mr,i.
Tightening by the combined preloading method has two steps. The first is carried out with a tool of suitable working range set to approximately 0.75 Mr,i, and must be completed for all bolts in the joint before the second begins. Unless specified otherwise, Mr,1 = 0.13 · d · Fp,C may be used as a simplification. In the second step, the specified angle of rotation is added to the turned part of the bolt assembly. The position of the nut relative to the bolt thread is marked after the first step so that the additional angle in the second step can be determined easily.

The new generation of Plarad electric torque wrenches with a documentation function is powerful, light and ensures precise, safe tightening. With documentation via Wi-Fi, it already meets Industry 4.0 requirements for bolting documentation.

DA3docu builds on DA3power: it sends tightening data via Wi-Fi to a tablet or phone so results can be documented on site. The automatic, steplessly rotating 360° joint and ergonomic dual trigger ensure safe, comfortable work.
The built-in indicator shows bolt tension in real time during tightening and clearly warns of any loss of tension — for quick joint checks without measuring equipment.
Pneumatic torque wrenches for work where compressed air is available and there is no electrical supply.

Hand torque multipliers for bolting without a power supply, where a power pack or cable is not available.

Battery torque wrench with planetary gearbox, torque and angle control and tightening data logging.
Manual torque wrenches for smaller bolts and torque checks.

Impact sockets in cold-forged alloy steel, from 1/4″ to 3 1/2″ for bolts from M10 to M150 — also for hydraulic and pneumatic torque wrenches.
